What is boudoir photography?
Boudoir photography involves undress photos e.g. either lingerie, loungewear or nothing at all. They are meant to embrace a woman’s sexuality, confidence and femininity and are more intimate in nature. Those images are retouched and shot for natural look. Photos also include details like legs, back and shoulders, breast, tush, lips as well as full body that include face, silhouettes, movement and body shape.
What is beauty portraiture?
Beauty Portraiture is a glamour session with fine art feel and look. It is a beautiful collection of portraits that are perfect for wall art. This is a great choice for women who feel a bit intimidated by the idea of exposing all for a boudoir session. For beauty session you can wear your favorite ball gown, short black dress, a lace bodysuit, fabric draping or even nudity. Beauty photos include full face and at least shoulders up. It’s a perfect opportunity to test your wedding hair and make up to create those stunning images. The finish touches of retouching and fine art edit fully enhance print that will be ready to hang on the wall.
When Should I book my session?
I recommend that women have their shot date scheduled for about 2 months prior to needing the finished product in hand. As I’m just one I tend to book up quickly and in advance. Usually my brides set the date just after signing the wedding contract. Most of the shoots are schedule for weekdays as weekends are not available during wedding season. Fridays tend to be most popular and book up the quickest. It’s never to early to get on my schedule so DON’T WAIT to email me! Your viewing session will be approximately 2 weeks after your photo shoot and your finished product (depending on what you order) will arrive between 3 – 6 weeks after that.
What your photo shoot includes?
This exclusive photo shoot for bride experience includes consultation, the photo shoot with Monika Szolle, selection and retouching of your images, the viewing session for you to choose and order your pictures. Some clients spent £300 and some £1300 for their session and products they desire. What you choose is entirely up to you. My job is to take beautiful portraits of you that you absolutely LOVE and can’t live without.over final
Where will my shoot take place?
I use several locations for a boudoir shoot so I will discuss this with you and advise you of your location at the time of booking. Sometime a client will want to use their home or somewhere the feel is special to them for their shoot. I am open to discuss ideas so please just ask.
Can I have my hair and make-up done before the shoot?
You most certainly can. It would be great opportunity to test your make up before your wedding day. If you need help to find hair and make-up expert, please ask for recommendation. Some clients are skilled in styling their own hair and make-up and want to do themselves. It’s absolutely fine. However, when you hire your own hair and make-up artist you can relax, have a glass of prosecco and build up the shoot slowly. Also their products and techniques are perfect for the camera and will leave you looking flawless and radiant!
What should I wear?
This is a very popular question and the simple answer is… whatever you feel sexy in! It might be a beautiful lingerie you just bought for your wedding night or your partner’s shirt that will look fantastic on you. Things that you have already in your closet like bodysuit, an oversize sweater, cropped sweatshirt and high waist panties, a rope, sleep shirt or favourite dress. Many clients choose to do a nude set during their session and either fabric or bed sheet wrap. In a 2 hours photo session, you will typically have time for up to 3 outfits (nude count as an outfit). Once you’ve completed booking process with me I will send you more information how to prepare for the shoot.
Can I bring my friend?
Of course you can. Sometimes your best friend is exactly what you need to calm your nerves and we give them the same warm welcome we give you!
Will you airbrush my photographs?
Your images will be fully finished in Photoshop. I remove blemishes, cellulite, stretch marks, under eye circle and small scars. However, it is important to state that I want you to look like you. I will not take you down dress sizes and airbrush you to the point that you are no longer recognisable. For best look I rely on my strategic poses and angles to play down “problem” areas and prove that you are BEAUTIFUL.
Will you use my images on your website/blog/portfolio?
I am very aware that many ladies wish to keep their boudoir portraits private. I completely understand if you might be uncomfortable to share them. I respect this completely and I will honour whatever level of privacy you would like. I will never use your images anywhere without your permission. However, many clients are so proud of their images that they give me full discretion to choose images for my portfolio. Some clients prefer that only their faceless images be put in my gallery, some clients prefer to choose the images that posted and other are comfortable with anything being posted, as long as it’s after a certain date (after they gift the images).
What to expect…
After booking your shoot we chat more about you, what you really want from your shoot and your images. You can tell about any insecurity you might have, how to prepare and what to wear. You will know exactly what to expect which will enable you to relax and enjoy the experience.
A couple days before the shoot, you can expect to get confirmation from me to make sure that everything is as planned.
On the day of your shoot your hair and make-up will be done and while you are getting lovely, I will take a peek at your wardrobe selections and start putting together looks so we can hit the ground when you finish your make up. Once you finished with your make up you can get into your first look and throw a robe over it.
During the shoot I will give you gentle direction. I will not expect you to super model pose throughout your shoot but show you what to do and encourage improvising whenever you feel comfortable. Some of the poses aren’t very comfortable and your shoot will give you a little bit of workout. But I assure you, it will be worth it.
Within a few days of your shoot, I will send you a teaser image with a referral voucher that you can pass on to your friends if you like. Within 2 weeks photos will be ready for a viewing session where you will be able to select your photos and products and to place your full order on the day.
If you have any questions, PLEASE ask. I’m here to help!
